Grant Signing Ceremony of “The Project for the Construction of School Block and Staff Quarter for KDEC Primary School Peidu”

On 12 May 2025, grant contract of USD 138,237 was exchanged between Ambassador Yoshimoto and Chairman Augustine Sahr Sheku of Kono District Council in Freetown, with the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGHSP), the Government of Japan will fund the construction of a six-classroom primary school building, a three-bedroom staff quarter, a photovoltaic (PV) solar power system, and water and sanitation facilities in Peidu Village, Kono District. Once completed, the new school will provide a cleaner and safer learning environment for 250 students and increase capacity to enroll more children from surrounding villages.
