Commissioning Ceremony of Baseball & Softball Field & Opening Game

1. The hand-over ceremony of “The Project for Construction of Baseball and Softball Field at Labone Senior High School” was held at Labone Senior High School, Accra on Saturday, 12th April, 2014.

2. The hand-over ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Naoto Nikai, the Ambassador of Japan to Ghana, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, the Minister of Youth and Sports, and Honorable Nii Kpobi Tettey Tsuru III, the Chief of La and Honorable Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, the Greater Accra Regional Minister

3. The Government of Japan through Japan’s Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Projects (GCGP) Scheme assisted Ohayo Ghana Foundation in constructing a baseball and Softball field at Labone Senior High School in a bid to enhance development of the youth in Ghana through sports.

4. An opening game followed the ceremony on the newly constructed baseball and softball field, which is named as the “KOSHIEN GHANA BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL FIELD” between a Japanese selected team and a Ghanaian selected team. Before the game, the Association for Friends of African Baseball (AFAB) from Japan and also the African Development Foundation in USA handed over baseball and softball gear to the Ghana Baseball and Softball Association.
