Conferment of Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette

On 9 November, Ambassador Mochizuki, on behalf of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan, delivered the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette to Professor Abraham Kwabena Anang, former Director of the Noguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research (NMIMR).
Professor Anang was decorated for his contribution to the development of NMIMR which further strengthened the cordial relationship between Japan and Ghana. 

About The Order of the Rising Sun
The Order of the Rising Sun (旭日章, Kyokujitsu-shō) is a Japanese award established in 1875 by Emperor Meiji. It features rays of sunlight radiating from the rising sun.
The Order of the Rising Sun is awarded to people who have rendered distinguished service to the state in various fields.
This honor was first given to non-Japanese in 1981. It is administered by the Decoration Bureau of Office of the Prime Minister and it is done in the name of the Emperor.
