Attendance at the Commissioning Ceremony of the Ghana Navy Ship "Achimota"

On December 23, Ambassador Yoshimoto attended the commissioning ceremony for the Ghana Navy Ship Achimota, which was held in Sekondi-Takoradi, Western Region, Ghana. The vessel, a former Japanese fisheries patrol vessel called “Aratsu” was purchased by the Ghana Navy from Japan and will be used to crack down on illegal fishing in the waters around Ghana. President Akufo-Addo, who attended the commissioning ceremony, expressed his gratitude for the support provided by Japan for the procurement of the vessel, and for Japan's efforts towards peace and stability.
