JAPAN WEEK 2013 took place from 15th (Fri.) to 17th (Sun.) November, 2013.

15th (Fri.) November
JAPAN FILM FESTIVAL

Two Japanese films, which are “Bravo! Samurai Battle” and “ALWAYS—Sunset on Third Street”, were shown at Silverbird Cinema, Accra Mall. People got excited to see Ninjya and Samurai and seemed to have been moved by people’s efforts in rebuilding the nation of Japan in the aftermath of the Second World War and the heartwarming interaction between people in Tokyo in the 1950s

GHANA YOSAKOI JAPAN FESTIVAL

Mensvic Grand Hotel became fully packed with people, all of whom enjoyed “Yosakoi” Dance performance by both Japanese and Ghanaian students, music by Japanese artists, traditional Japanese songs, Japanese foods and sweets, some cultural activities such as “Origami”, paper folding as well as “Wanage”, ring toss, and nail art etc.

JAPAN SPORTS FESTIVAL
15TH JAPANESE AMBASSADOR JUDO CHAMPIONSHIP

1ST JAPANESE AMBASSADOR KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP

For both Judo and Karate Championships, we had approximately 100 practitioners each participating for this year, whose age ranges wide. For the Japanese Ambassador Karate Championship, particularly, it was the first time that nation-wide tournament took place, which attracted great attention from the media as well as the Ghanaian people.
